A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Chapel in the Pines in Idyllwild for Michael Dailey Pond Jr., son of Michael D. and Diana Pond Sr. of Idyllwild.<\/p>\n
Michael died of natural causes at a friend's house in Desert Hot Springs at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at age 36.<\/p>\n
He was born and raised in Northern California. His family moved to the desert in 1973.<\/p>\n
Michael was married and lived in Norco until an accident left him a paraplegic in 1984. He resided in Idyllwild until his move back to the desert where he was living and recuperating from a neck injury just three weeks prior to his death.<\/p>\n
Along with his parents, he is survived by a son, Christopher M. Pond of Colorado; a sister, Heather C. Pond of Washington; grandmothers Bonnie Wheeler of Martinez and Norma Thiessen of Hayward; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Northern California.<\/p>\n
