Jerry Louis Adams, 83, of Palm Springs, died of cardiac arrest in that city on Friday, Dec. 27, 2002.

Mr. Adams was born May 26, 1919, in Charleston, Ark.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corp from 1941 to 1945.

Mr. Adams was a retired Los Angeles Police Department sergeant, having served from 1945 to 1975.

He was a former, longtime Idyllwild resident.

No services are planned. Remains will be cremated and spread at sea.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Adams of Palm Springs; two sons, Mark Adams of Idyllwild and Ron Adams of Cathedral City; a daughter, Diana Adams-Desrosiers of Idyllwild; two brothers, Norbert Adams of Arkansas and Al Adams of San Diego; a sister, Hilda Adams of Arkansas; a stepdaughter, Loralyn Gatlin; and three stepsons, David, Randy and Bruce Hettema.
