The always popular Yve Evans returns to Idyllwild next week, Thursday, July 18. She and her group will perform at the Idyllwild Summer Concert Series staged at the Idyllwild Community Center site. Evans’ singing, playing and humor are often seen at Jazz in the Pines and will now be on display for her Idyllwild followers….
The “Center of Idyllwild” mural on the side of The Fort facing Highway 243 has been restored to its original beauty under the direction of the Art Alliance of Idyllwild (AAI). According to AAI representatives, the mural had not had any restoration work since it was built in 1992. Conductor and Composer in Residence of Idyllwild Arts, Peter Askim, speaks at the ICRC speakers series on Wednesday evening at the Quiet Creek Gallery. As he gave his talk, “What’s New? The Latest, Greatest, Up-To-Date in Contemporary Classical Music,” he played examples of the music. The event was co-sponsored by the Associates of Idyllwild Arts Foundation.
Lindsay Crater started third grade at Idyllwild School, finished eighth grade and, like many, went on to Hemet High. This August, she returned to her alma mater to teach fourth grade. “I grew up here,” said Crater. “It’s still the same magical place, as open and beautiful as it was when I was a child.”…
