Darwin to restore Center of Idyllwild mural
The Art Alliance of Idyllwild (AAI) has commissioned artist T.J. Darwin to restore the beauty of the “Center of Idyllwild” mural on The Fort facing Highway 243. On Monday, Oct. 3, Darwin began by washing the grime off. The mural was built in 1992 and, according to AAI representatives, has not had any improvements during that time. Darwin plans to complete his work by Oct. 18.
Evans graces summer concert stage
The always popular Yve Evans returns to Idyllwild next week, Thursday, July 18. She and her group will perform at the Idyllwild Summer Concert Series staged at the Idyllwild Community Center site. Evans’ singing, playing and humor are often seen at Jazz in the Pines and will now be on display for her Idyllwild followers….
Askim educates Idyllwild audience on contemporary classical music
Conductor and Composer in Residence of Idyllwild Arts, Peter Askim, speaks at the ICRC speakers series on Wednesday evening at the Quiet Creek Gallery. As he gave his talk, “What’s New? The Latest, Greatest, Up-To-Date in Contemporary Classical Music,” he played examples of the music. The event was co-sponsored by the Associates of Idyllwild Arts Foundation.
