At 2:40 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, the day after Thanksgiving, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Hemet Station (RCSD) responded to a report of an accidental shooting on Little Thomas Mountain Road near Garner Valley.
A 14-year-old boy, identified as Isreal Delatorre, resident of Coachella, was accidentally shot while hunting with family members. The boy succumbed to injuries at the scene in the forest, about an hour after the incident.
“He was shot by a family member in what we are treating as an unintentional shooting,” said RCSD Deputy Steve Scallon.

Another preventable tragedy
According to reports elsewhere. It's apparent that the kids involved with this tragedy were not properly supervised. Even though there was a "hunter safety" instructor present.
This tragedy was completely preventable with just a little adult supervision. Unfortunately it appears that no adults were present.
