Vandals damaged and pilfered two cars at separate residences in the 54000 block of Jameson on Monday evening, Jan. 2. Both cars were parked in their owner’s home driveway, with a fair amount of ambient lighting in the area. Both cars were unlocked. At one house, vandals took items from an emergency response backpack and damaged the car’s console. At the other, vandals took the car’s registration. Owners filed police reports.
One owner expressed sadness that the peace and security they feel about living on the Hill has been violated. The lesson is that neither homes nor cars should be left unlocked, something both owners said they would no longer do.
