Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a search of a home in the 26800 block of Highway 243, near Idyllwild School. Two marked RCSD black and white patrol cars and 3 unmarked cars, and a total of 7 law enforcement personnel, arrived to conduct the search just sometime before 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28.

Hemet Station Special Investigations Supervisor Wallace Clear led the law enforcement search that resulted, according to Clear, in two “narcotics related” arrests. Arrests of one younger female and one older man took place around 11:40 a.m. Deputies cuffed them and placed each in separate patrol cars. Deputies cuffed and detained one additional man, but as of this writing, he had not been arrested.

Prior to the arrests, deputies individually questioned the four to six individuals who were apparently at the residence when the search commenced. According to one deputy, the search had been a long time in the making.

  1. Thumbs up to the reporter (Marshall Smith) and Thumbs up to the police.
Good job, no shots were fired, nice and clean.

  2. There goes another perfectly blundered story by the press,
…just remember were Idyllwild, and just because somebody says something about another person, doesn't make it so. This man is innocent and deserves to be treated as such until proven otherwise.

    1. "This man" is innocent, but is guilty of allowing those people to take advantage of his kindness and in housing criminals that are terrorizing our mountain town.

  3. So, has the crime rate decreased since these arrests? Is there a connection between this particular household and the rash of burglaries?

    1. This latest incident was a narcotics related arrest. At this time there is no reported connection to the recent spate of burglaries.

    1. Wow, how unkind and negative a comment is that. I like Idy! I think it's a great place to live. I also work in Anza. They have a GREAT swap every month-you should check it out.
