Gemini Anderson, IA grad, heads to NYC talent showcase
Gemini Anderson, daughter of the late Pete “Pedro” Anderson and Betty Ginsberg Anderson, is heading to the New York City theater district for an invitation-only talent showcase. Anderson, a 2012 Idyllwild Arts musical theater graduate, is also a 2015 honors bachelor’s degree graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales….
Year six of Stratford’s Shakespeare scenes
Stratford Players, Idyllwild’s classical company dedicated to keeping Shakespeare front and center, presents “Will in the Woods” season six, “Lovers and Scoundrels.” On the bill are scenes from Shakespearean classics “Julius Caesar,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Othello,” “Much Ado About Nothing” and “Richard III,” and scenes featuring two major Shakespeare characters, Falstaff and Mistress Quickly….

The big, white-sided Budget Rent-A-Truck pulled into the backstage parking area between the bull fighting ring and the oval race track at the Perris Fairgrounds the day before the Fourth of July. Signs on its front, back and sides announced, “Explosives.”

Idyllwild Arts Chamber Orchestra members tune their instruments to the sound of the lead violinist prior to performing Jean Sibelius’ “Finlandia, Op. 26,” under the direction of conductor Joshua Roach as part of the 2011 Idyllwild Arts Summer program on Sunday, Aug. 21 at the IAF Theatre.
