On the way to the dump — or transfer station — local resident Pat Smith saw a truck parked on the side of the road not far from the entrance of the transfer station on Saunders Meadow Road. He spoke to the Transfer Station manager carrying trash and hazardous waste from the side of the road. Here are six gallons of unexplained chemicals dumped, along with electronics and batteries, all of which are considered hazmat items. “People are getting too lazy to go the extra 500 feet to the transfer station and dispose of trash there,” Smith wrote. “I just wish people would realize that we are all guardians of the forests.”
