Some Idyllwild businesses last many years. Many last only a few.

Closing after three years is Dr. Linsey Olivier’s Idyllwild Eye Care, the Hill’s only full service optometry facility. Olivier performed eye exams, stocked custom frames and had glasses made to order for Idyllwild clients from her prescriptions. All frames are currently 50 percent off. Olivier said no further eye examinations would be performed.

Moving is Rough Riders Sporting Goods from Highway 243 to Village Centre.

Scheduling a soft opening on Friday, May 17, is the Mountain Center Café. Emily and Martha Pearson will operate the new mountain eatery. The menu will be similar to the Red Kettle’s, according to Emily. But it would also feature Martha’s line of baked goods, including pies and coffee cakes. The Pearsons plan to be open daily from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
