Tim E. Faulkner

Tim E. Faulkner, 67, of Pine Cove, passed away at the VA hospital Wednesday, July 17, 2013.

He was born July 22, 1946, in Lubbock, Texas, and raised in San Antonio. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1966 and joined the Navy where he served from 1966 to 1971.

He and Joni owned and managed the Edelweiss Lodge for many years.

Tim was a truly unique and gifted individual who enjoyed meeting new people. To Tim, strangers were friends he had not yet met, often providing them shelter and help along the way.

He spent winters snowplowing for friends and neighbors, made doctor runs down the Hill with friends, cut hair, helped deliver a baby, and even did some carpentry for the movie, “Turquoise,” getting a bit part in it.

He always had a story about “flatlanders” (and they loved him), a listening ear, a big smile and always a hug.

He is survived by a sister, Chris (Hank) Preston; a niece, Donna (Bobby) McManus; a nephew, Ira (Laura) Davis and children; a son, Andrew (Danielle) Faulkner; and a stepson, Robbie Keele.

Tim was at home in the mountain community of Pine Cove and enjoyed his life with loving friends Tommy, Meghan, Rachael, Lori, Dave and Scott.

Tim was a loving husband, father and brother.

Thank you, God, for your community concern and help at a time like this.

Donations may be made to your local hospice or the Cancer Society.

A memorial will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Idyllwild Nature Center, 25225 Highway 243.
