MONDAY IN THE HIGHER MOUNTAINS...

.A COLD AND SLOW-MOVING UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL BRING PERIODS OF
SNOW TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY. SNOW LEVELS WILL START OUT AROUND
7000 FEET...THEN LOWER TO 4500 FEET SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY WHEN
THE COLDEST AIR ARRIVES.

* SNOW LEVELS...INITIALLY AROUND 7000 FEET...FALLING TO 5000 FEET
LATE SATURDAY...AND AROUND 4500 FEET FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY WITH
LOCALLY LOWER SNOW LEVELS.

* TIMING...PERIODS OF HEAVIER SNOWFALL SATURDAY NIGHT INTO
SUNDAY...AND AGAIN ON MONDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...LESS THAN 4 INCHES FOR 4000 TO 5000 FEET...4
TO 8 INCHES FOR 5000 TO 6000 FT...8 TO 12 INCHES FOR 6000 TO
7000 FT...WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS EXCEEDING 12 INCHES ABOVE 7000
FEET.

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST TO WEST WINDS 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 50
MPH. WINDS WILL ALSO BE THIS STRONG FOR SOME MOUNTAIN AREAS
BELOW 5000 FEET ELEVATION.

* VISIBILITY...REDUCED BELOW ONE QUARTER AT TIMES IN SNOW...
BLOWING SNOW...AND/OR FOG.

* IMPACTS...RESIDENTS AND TRAVELERS INTO HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE
MOUNTAINS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR HAZARDOUS WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS AND POSSIBLE ROAD CLOSURES. IF POSSIBLE...CARRY
CHAINS AND TAKE EXTRA FOOD AND CLOTHING.

* OUTLOOK...LINGERING SHOWERS MAY CONTINUE TUESDAY WITH DRY
WEATHER RETURNING WEDNESDAY.
