Cal Trans has announced plans for road work and maintenance over the next two weeks. This work will result in some lane closures and cautious driving.

Paving will take place on both northbound and southbound Highway 371 from Highway 74 to Kirby Road, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, Aug. 31, through Thursday, Sept. 3 and again Wednesday through Friday, Sept. 9 through 11.

Drivers may also encounter partial closures on Highway 74 from McCall Park Road to Highway 243 and from Strawberry Creek to South Fork Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, for tree work during this period.

The next day, Thursday, Sept. 3, work will occur on Highway 74 from South Fork Trail to McCall Park Road for slope clearing.

A commuter alert has been announced for Highway 243 from Black Mountain Road to Interstate 10 for landscape work. This will occur from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, through Thursday, Sept. 3.
