Evelyn and Carter Johnson are the first to drop their letters to Santa in the box bound for the North Pole. Santa’s helpers are (from left) Sherry Kaufman, John Aussenhofer, Postmaster Kelly Gates and Christina Reitz. The mailbox will be in the Idyllwild Post Office lobby until Friday, Dec. 18, for children to send Santa their Christmas wishes. Santa allows the Town Crier to print the letters in the Christmas edition for readers to enjoy. Photo by Halie Wilson
