A body was recovered from a car crash near Lake Fulmor on Thursday, Oct. 27. The California Highway Patrol reported a crash at 4:37 p.m. with a vehicle plunging 50 feet over the side and hitting a tree before coming to rest.
According to CHP Officer Julie Patton, San Gorgonio Pass Station, the vehicle was a 2014 white Nissan Altima registered in Hemet. The cause of the crash appeared to be the driver making an unsafe turning movement about 1.4 miles north of Hall Decker Road on Highway 243. Patton said the crash, still under investigation, appears to be a single vehicle, single occupant incident. The initial report did not indicate if any driver impairment was a factor in the crash.
CHP also noted in its report that the operator of the vehicle was listed as missing on Sunday, Oct. 23. The county coroner has not yet published a press release naming the decedent and the CHP could not make a name available until the coroner did so.
