San Jacinto resident Mark Disante, 56, was killed in a single vehicle crash on Saturday, Sept. 16.

At 8:50 a.m., Disante was driving his 2004 silver 2004 BMW convertible eastbound on Highway 74, a quarter-mile east of Bee Canyon road when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle went off the south edge of the highway into the dirt, striking a plastic road marker.

The impact caused the vehicle to go airborne, over the embankment, coming to rest in an overturned position. The top of the convertible was down at the time of the incident, and although wearing a seatbelt, Disante was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

An investigation is pending to determine if intoxication may have been a factor in the crash, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Darren Meyer, who provided the transcript of the above report.
