Traffic delays on Highway 243 next week near Twin Pines

            Next week, from Monday, Jan. 28 through Friday, Feb. 1, Highway 243, near Twin Pines, south of Banning and north of Lake Fulmor, will be one lane of traffic and traffic delays should be expected for those five days.

.             Cal Trans announced that maintenance crews will begin a rock scaling operation along Hwy. 243 There will be a one-way flagging operation on Hwy. 243 near Old Idyllwild Road to Mount Edna Road to allow for traffic to move through the work zone.

            During work hours, which are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a 15-minute traffic hold to complete the scaling and clear the roadway for the one-way traffic. Please be advised that traffic delays are anticipated.

In the original announcement, Cal Trans had said it would be finished on Thursday. The update extends the work through Friday.
