On. Oct. 24, Rep. Raul Ruiz, M.D. defended his constituents’ health care from the Trump Administration’s continued attacks on the Affordable Care Act.
Speaking to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, Ruiz said, “It is for the American people who are scared that we are going to go back to a time when they’re going to be denied and delayed, that they’re going to endure pain, that they’re going to potentially lose their life and leave their children behind … that’s why we are pressing you and this administration for those questions.”
The Trump Administration has consistently sought to undermine aspects of the Affordable Care Act, even advocating striking down the law in its entirety.
Ruiz, an emergency doctor, said, “To make matters worse, you have no plan. You can’t produce a document. You can’t give us a detail. You’re skirting the issues. All we are getting is only spin and talking points. The American people deserve better.”
