David and Heather Landeros had been coming up to Idyllwild for at least 10 years. For this real estate broker from Long Beach and wife Heather, also a broker, Idyllwild was a welcome respite from the hustle and traffic of Long Beach. They have been full-time residents of Idyllwild for three and half years and they love it.

How did they make the leap from real estate to a wine bar? The couple still maintain their Long Beach office, operating from both Idyllwild and Long Beach as needed.

David explained that after living here, he felt there was nothing quite like what they have to offer. They have done their share of wine-tasting in the various travels they have made statewide. Their passion is coming alive with the wine bar.

They decided to make the leap from Long Beach to Idyllwild primarily because of the peaceful, natural beauty of the area. With the help of some wine industry friends, they decided it was time.

This very engaged couple are wine connoisseurs with a desire “to become part of the community.” Located in the hub of Idyllwild at The Fort enables them to connect with the community. It also enables them to live out their passion of “having great experiences with people and the wine bar gives us the opportunity do that,” explains David.

According to the Facebook page, this is “an Idyllwild Wine Bar featuring curated and organic wines.” Also available from The Wine Finch is an array of craft beers with some “bites” to nibble on while tasting.

They offer an array of white and red wines, sparkling rosé, piquette and more. Of course, the couple have their favorites, but they’d like you to come try the various wines and craft beers yourself to determine your favorite. When you visit The Wine Finch, be sure to ask about their wine clubs.

The Wine Finch is located at 54225 N. Circle Dr., #13 and can be reached by calling 951-659-1659 or visiting www.thewinefinch.com. The business is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It’s open Mondays from 1 to 5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m.
