The Rustic Theatre presents Kathy Garver at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, in a staged reading of Truman Capote’s classic short story “A Christmas Memory.”
Garver will then do a question-and-answer period with a meet-and-greet book signing with wine and cheese after the reading. This is the 55th anniversary of “Family Affair” in which Garner is best known for her role as Cissy Davis.
She will sign her new book “Family Affair Scrapbook” published by TV Classics Press and also will have her other four books and photos on display to sign.
Garver recently accepted two Life Time Achievement Awards from the Southern California Motion Picture Council. She has garnered critical acclaim in film, stage and voice over.
Garver is executive producer of the new show “Idol Chat” on Retro TV and hosts a marathon of “The Patty Duke Show” in which she appeared as Monica, Patty’s friend, for “Classic Reruns TV” next month. Duke wrote the foreword to Garver’s book “Surviving Cissy” and Garver performed the audio narration for “In the Presence of Greatness” by Bill Jankowski and Duke. Garver also just finished filming the new movie “Old Man Jackson” produced and directed by Johnny Ray Gibbs. Garver stars as Mrs. Jackson.
