Bring a chair and enjoy food from Dog-o-Dog, Amelia’s Donuts and El Buen Cacao, as well as an offer of wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks for sale. The festival is free and open to the public.

The day’s music opens at noon with songs of Juls Phillips followed by Laree Gibson and Bryan Goodhead. The second hour features local favorite Change Required.

Sandii Castleberry is joined by Barnaby and Anne Finch as Songbird Sandii and the Finches starting around 2 p.m.

Up from the desert and big classic rock favorites from last year, The 212 Band plays the next set of the day. The day wraps up with one of the favorite bands of Idyllwild’s Summer Concert Series, Lisa Lynn and the Broken Hallelujahs.

This year, The Call of the Wyld Festival is combining with one of the biggest art events in the Idyllwild art calendar — The Eye of the Artist, a judged art show. AAI will raffle off original art from more than 35 artists, and more than 50 silent auction items. Come bid on as many items as you want. Spend a few dollars and you might own a unique piece of art. As a bonus, you are supporting local art programs all year. Drawings for the raffle and silent auction start at 4:30 p.m.

The event also features “Chili Bowls for Charity.” Buy a bowl of chili served in a ceramic bowl handmade by Mountain Pottery. Keep the bowl when you are finished.

Proceeds benefit the Idyllwild smARTS program, bringing arts education to Idyllwild School students.
