On Saturday, Feb. 11, Caltrans has scheduled road work on Highway 74 in Mountain Center near Keen Camp Road. A Hot Line Construction crew will be replacing a utility pole. The work may take from 9 p.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday.

Feb. 14, 2019 at 12:25 p.m., UPDATED at 12:45 p.m. — The County of Riverside Emergency Management Department is warning and advising all persons in Idyllwild, Pine Cove and Mountain Center to shelter in place because roads leaving those mountain communities are not safe.

A new committee of about 10 local residents has been constituted to develop a plan for the anticipated Idyllwild Community Center (ICC). The group, currently headed by Bill Sanborn, with Bill Lowman in the wings, began meeting, discussing and planning in July. “We are a new group with renewed vigor,” Sanborn said with a smile….
