Gracemarie Womack, 78, of San Diego and Stonewood (near Pine Cove), died of heart failure on Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at home in San Diego.

Mrs. Womack was born Nov. 19, 1921, in Dubuque, Iowa.

She was a longtime Stonewood and Idyllwild resident and was a member of the Idyllwild Garden Club and the Friends of Idyllwild Arts, a group no longer functioning. She also belonged to the San Diego chapter of Cancer Victims and Friends.

She had been a resident of Idyllwild since 1985, and lived here continually until around 1996. She became a part-time resident after that.

A housewife, writer and photographer, she produced more than 3,000 cards of Idyllwild scenes that were sold through local shops from 1988 to 1992. Her love of Idyllwild was apparent in the photos she took of the area. When Mrs. Womack first came to Idyllwild, there were no picture cards of the area.

She was the first person to make picture cards. Inurnment was private, and her ashes were scattered at sea.

Mrs. Womack is survived by her husband, Stanley E. Womack.
