Dr. Maurice W. “Big” Black, 75, of Idyllwild, died of a heart attack Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, in Idyllwild.

He was born Nov. 2, 1932 in Carmichaels, Pa.

Dr. Black served in the U.S. Navy as an officer.

He was a very well-respected psychiatrist and friend in Long Beach for more than 50 years, and in Hemet for five years.

Dr. Black was a good friend of Bill W’s for more than 26 years. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues and friends.

He is survived by his loving family.
