Robert Alfred Fredericks, 58, of Idyllwild, died of cancer at his home on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2002.

Mr. Fredericks was born Jan. 22, 1944, in Oak Park, Ill.

He grew up in El Cajon and worked in golf course construction, having built golf courses all over the world.

He was an Idyllwild resident for 13 years.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at Idyllwild Bible Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Fredericks; a son, John Fredericks of Valle Vista; a stepson, David Browne of Wildomar; a stepdaughter, Dawna Arnett of Lake Elsinore; two brothers, Tom Fredericks of Idyllwild and Bill Fredericks of Hemet; a sister, Mary Ann Price of Lakeside; and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in his name be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, Ga. 30368-2454.
