Norbert (Tom) Wick, longtime resident of Pine Cove, passed away at home in Sun City, Calif., on Jan. 13, 2011, at the age of 88.

He was the General Manager of the Pine Cove Water District and served two terms on the Board of Directors before retiring in 1982.

Tom was a retiree with Cement Masons Local #500, after being a member for 63 years.

Tom served in the U.S. Navy as a Radioman Second Class, from July 28, 1942 to March 5, 1947. He received the American Area Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, European African and Mid-Eastern Medals, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ellen; children Marie, Linda and Bill; and two sisters Betty and Marie. He was the grandfather of five and great-grandfather of nine.

Tom will always be remembered as a very hard-working man with an old-school work ethic. He was caring, honest and very proud of his family.

A graveside service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Feb. 18, 2011.
