Idyllwild News Traffic collision on Tollgate and Lake Lane By Town Crier - August 16, 2012 0 161 Facebook Twitter Google+ At right, on Monday night, Idyllwild Fire Protection District, California Highway Patrol, Idyllwild Garage and Riverside County Sheriff responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Tollgate Road and Lake Lane. According to CHP Officer David Kling, Steve Schell (center, brown shirt) of Long Beach was driving his 2000 Ford Mustang heading toward Highway 243 and was signaling to turn left onto Lake Lane. Steven Howlett, 23, of Idyllwild, was behind Schell driving his white Honda Civic and attempted to pass Howlett on the left as he was turning left, colliding at the intersection and sending Howlett into a tree stump. No one was injured in the collision, but Tollgate Road was limited to one lane of traffic for approximately three hours.
