Winners of the 2015 Idyllwild School Charles Dickens Essay and Poster Contest were announced Tuesday morning. The contest, in its eleventh year, is sponsored by Mary Austin Scholarships and Grants. Some $550 in cash prizes were awarded. Idyllwild has free shuttle service that began in September of this year. It is funded by a grant from the Riverside County Transportation Commission, renewable each fiscal year for a total of three years. Caltrans has announced that the Hemet maintenance crew will conduct a flagging operation near Cranston Fire Station on Friday, Dec. 20. The slow down is needed to repair a section of the Hwy. 74 on the eastbound side. The operation will last from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
