obit---sperlingGeri Sperling was taken home to be with her Lord on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015.

Geri will be truly missed by her devoted family and loving friends. Geri was a proud veteran, serving the United States Army as a staff sergeant during World War II.

She went on to graduate from UCLA, and enjoyed a successful career in teaching, before retiring to her little piece of heaven in Idyllwild.

Geri’s love for people and nature made her an iconic member of Idyllwild’s charming community for more than 30 years. Her quick wit and delightful sense of humor kept us laughing, while her dance-floor skills kept us on our toes. Her warm hugs and sweet smile will remain in the hearts of those who knew her. A celebration of Geri’s life will be planned for the spring.
