At 2:12 p.m. Wednesday, Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters responded to reports of an injured hiker at Humber Park.
Firefighters hiked in to the location and found one male victim, Jonathan Zuniga, 24, of Oceanside, who perished at the scene. The Sheriff's Department press release states that the results of their investigation indicate the deceased hiker and injured hiker fell while rock climbing.
Firefighters then located a second injured male victim. Responders called for air support and Cal Fire Copter 901 performed a hoist operation. This victim was delivered to an awaiting air ambulance at the U.S. Forest Service's Keenwild Ranger Station, from where he was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
They fell due to a very large rock slide that came down. North side of Lily Rock.
