Beginning Tuesday, May 7, Highway 74 will be open from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. for traffic between Mountain Center and Hemet, according to Caltrans Public Information Officer Terri Kasinga Monday afternoon. A pilot car escort will still be leading the traffic.
This is one more hour than originally provided in April when the highway was opened to limited use. The evening hours remain 6 p.m. to midnight.
