Board meeting later this month
The Fern Valley Water District currently has a vacant board seat. Former Director George Rowell resigned in March. His full term ends December 2021.
The district advertised the vacancy and requested indications of interest to be submitted by the Friday, May 17, board meeting.
Fred Hamblin and James Gates, both residents, submitted papers.
The board plans to schedule a special meeting at 3 p.m. Friday, May 24, to make a decision on the next director.
Whoever is selected will fill the term through December, but must be elected in the August ballot for the remaining two years of the term.
Hamlin is currently a broker associate on the Hill, but has owned and managed a consulting firm.
Gates is a former chemist with Metropolitan Water District and has served on the board of the Castaic Lake Water Agency
