There were two vehicle crashes on hill roads over the last week, California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Darren Meyer reports.
At 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, Margaret Moore, 68, from Cathedral City, was driving a silver 2012 Lexus eastbound on Highway 74 with black 2016 Dodge Challenger approaching from behind. The driver of the Challenger, 36-year-old Kendall Goco from Temecula, went to pass Moore over the broken yellow line at the same time Moore was making a left-hand turn onto Pine Crest Trail.
The vehicles collided. Neither party was injured, but both vehicles were towed to Idyllwild Garage.
At 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, Regina Rau, 37 of Idyllwild, was parked in front of Mountain Top Liquor on the eastbound side of Highway 243 in a silver 2005 Honda Accord. Mountain Center resident Kimberlie Reyes, 30, was parked on the other side of Highway 243 (westbound) in front of Idyllwild Village Market. The drivers of both vehicles backed into each other.
Neither vehicle was towed, as the collision only resulted in minor injuries to both vehicles. No one was injured.
