There were two traffic incidents on hill roads over the last week, Officer Darren Meyer of the California Highway Patrol reports.
At an unknown hour on Friday, Aug. 2, there was a hit-and-run on Pinecrest Ave. An unknown vehicle hit the front-end of an unoccupied silver 2011 328 BMW belonging to Laura Sherman of Idyllwild. No one was injured.
At 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, Carl Duncan, 53 of Spring Valley CA, was traveling north on Highway 243 one mile north of Mt. Edna on a black and yellow 2000 Honda 600 when, according to Duncan, a vehicle driving southbound entered the lane coming toward Duncan. To avoid hitting the oncoming vehicle, Duncan swerved to the right and hit the mountainside. The claim of the other vehicle coming into the lane could not be confirmed. Duncan was transported by AMR to a local hospital for complaints of minor pain. The motorcycle was not towed.
