Many of the Art Alliance of Idyllwild’s (AAI) usual events were canceled during 2020 because of the pandemic. However, the AAI was able to safely stage certain events by holding them outdoors and complying with all health requirements. Providing the virus is under control in 2021, the AAI plans the following events. If the virus is still raging, these events will be postponed.

2021 events

“Here and Now” Judged Art Show and Gallery Opening: Saturday, April 24 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The AAI will hold this event to open its new gallery and visitors center at 26364 Saunders Meadow Rd. This show encourages artists to enter new artwork previously not exhibited.

Herd Gathering: Saturday, May 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. in IdyPark
Currently, students and families are painting 14 new deer to add to the painted deer herd. This event displays the new deer altogether for the only time before they are installed around town.

“Eye of the Artist” Judged Art Show and Raffle: Saturday, July 10 from noon to 5 p.m. in IdyPark

The success of the 2020 event held outdoors in IdyPark has led to this venue being used again for this popular event. Artists donate a piece of artwork that is judged and then raffled.

“Call of the Wyld” Music and Art Festival: Saturday, Aug. 28 from noon to 7 p.m. at the back of the Town Hall

This third-annual event features live music by local musicians on an outdoor stage. The venue will also offer artist booths and all-day family fun.
Art Walk & Wine Tasting: Saturday, Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This 23rd-annual event promises to be better than ever. Award-winning Southern California wineries pair with local talented artists to offer visitors a unique experience, rewarding them with stunning views and mountain fresh air.

The AAI has memberships starting at $40 for Art Lovers that include $5 off the Art Walk & Wine Tasting ticket price. You do not need to be an artist to support this vibrant nonprofit organization.
