CHP has a new captain

California Highway Patrol (CHP) San Gorgonio Pass Capt. Mike Alvarez took a new job at the CHP headquarters in Sacramento. While he’s still holding his captain position, he is now a commander at the Office of Special Representatives, which is the liaison between the CHP and the U.S. Congress.

Capt. Aaron Knarr has stepped in as the new captain for the San Gorgonio Pass area office. Knarr took over on Dec. 1 and was promoted from lieutenant at the Santa Ana area office.

Knarr is a drug recognition expert and officer safety instructor. While he’s from Orange County, according to CHP Public Information Officer Matt Napier, Knarr is excited to work in a smaller area so he can get out and talk to the people in his community.
