It’s been a few months since the Town Crier has checked in on Mayor Max. It’s been a roller coaster for everyone in recent months, but Mayor Max is still serving our community just as much, if not more.

Since the pandemic started, Mayor Max hasn’t been visiting the community like he once did. With restrictions on gatherings, Mayor Max’s staff felt it was the responsible thing to do.

“It’s always elevating for people to meet the Mayor,” Phyllis Mueller, chief of staff to Mayor Max, said. “They always enjoy it and it makes them smile. I’m scheduling half-hour visits at the house.”
On Saturday, another mayor visited to show her support for Mayor Max and all that he stands for. Lindsey P. Horvath, mayor of West Hollywood, along with three of her friends, took the drive out to present Mayor Max with a certificate of recognition.

The certificate was for bringing his constituents joy, making the world a better place, and of course, for being a very good boy.

According to the city of West Hollywood’s website, Horvath is “known for her leadership on women’s issues and serves as a Global Coordinator for One Billion Rising, a global campaign of the V-Day movement to end violence against women and girls.”

“A friend just happened to tell her, and when she did her research, she decided to create this award for us,” Mueller said. “It was very sweet to be recognized by another mayor and appreciated. It was a fun visit.”

For the last nine years, people have been asking Mueller to create Mayor Max merchandise. While it hasn’t happened yet, they are hoping to be able to offer sweatshirts, t-shirts and hoodies in the next couple of months.

Mayor Max’s Peace on Earth Team, also known as POET, is in full swing on Facebook and is being shared in person. The idea behind the group is to help people realize there are proactive things people can do to help make the world a better place and create peace on Earth.

“I’m trying to let people know that they are able to be over today’s situation by the actions that they take, and that just by emanating and being positive, loving and focused in that direction creates a tremendous amount of good for the planet,” Mueller explained.

One of the merchandise pieces will have the POET logo to help remind people of the importance of peace on Earth and that we can all be a part of the solution.

“The more people we have that are acting like a living angel on Earth, the more peace there will be,” Mueller said. “No one is perfect, but if you try to use love and positive energy as the basis for every single thing you think, do, and say, it will help people be a happy over their own lives and help make the world a better place.”

Mayor Max and his staff have been spreading the word of peace to children and adults alike by sharing information from their heart. In this quest, Mueller has been a witness to the conclusion of these actions. Something she has seen the most is that this is uplifting people’s spirits. During times of such distress, it is an amazing gift to share such positive interaction with so many people.
