The Idyllwild Community Center (ICC) has made arrangements with the Riverside University Health System (RUHS) to offer primary healthcare services inside its mobile clinic on the third Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot at Idyllwild Town Hall. RUHS’s first visit is Wednesday, July 19.

Available services include exams, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, prescriptions, patient education, immunization, preventative health screenings, women’s health exams, well-baby checks, laboratory services and nutrition education. Referrals also are available as needed for specialists, mental health treatment and other public services.

“We are all aware of the lack of available health care on the Hill and I heard this issue raised repeatedly in our Town Hall meetings with Supervisor Perez. So, I decided to see what ICC could do to help address this important local issue,” said ICC President Stephanie Yost. “I met with RUHS a month or so ago, and we quickly got a contract for services in place. Now we just need community members to use these services so that we can keep the mobile clinic coming to Idyllwild every month. Please tell your friends and neighbors about this much-needed benefit to our community,” Yost added.

The mobile clinic accepts Medicare and Medical for low to no cost health care, and its staff can help determine which programs are available to help pay for whatever services are necessary that are not otherwise covered. It also provides fee guidance for those with private medical insurance.
