Riverside County continues the fight against HIV/AIDS through increasing awareness, prevention and providing life-saving support to those affected.
“Medical advancements have allowed those with HIV and AIDS to live longer and fuller lives but the work is not done,” said Dr. Geoffrey Leung, Riverside County public health officer. “We want to remember and mourn those who lost their lives to HIV/AIDS. We want to commit to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and combating stigma around this disease.”
Riverside University Health System (RUHS) Department of Public Health offers accessible and confidential HIV testing services for residents. Testing is a crucial step in preventing the spread of HIV and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
HIV testing, care and wrap-around services are provided at three RUHS-Public Health clinic locations. Care includes client-focused, individualized treatment plans. Wrap-around services include nutrition therapy and support from a social services professional. To find a testing location, residents can visit https://www.ruhealth.org/public-health/rivco-hiv-std-program/hiv-care or book an appointment by calling (951) 358-6037.
