Town Crier Publisher-Editor Becky Clark speaks to the California Press Foundation audience Friday night at the Marines’ Memorial Club in San Francisco after receiving the Justus F. Craemer Newspaper Executive of the Year award. Clark’s grandson, Carter Johnson, 8, holds the award presented by Hal Fuson. Clark also was elected chair of the foundation earlier in the day.

California Department of Fish and Wildlife Biologist Kevin Brennan will make it to his talk, “Living With Bears,” scheduled from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Idyllwild Library. Brennan suffered an injury while on a backpacking trip but will be able to make it.
Fern Valley Water District moved to Stage 2 Water Conservation in June. General Manager Victor Jimenez elevated the water conservation stage as a precaution after precipitation and stream flow declined this spring.
Normal Saturday operations at the Idyllwild Grinding Facility will resume May 5. The facility has been closed on Saturdays since Dec. 1, 2011.
