Highway 243 from Idyllwild to Lake Fulmor opened this afternoon. (Lake Fulmor is north of Idyllwild, but south of where the February rains washed out the highway at Bay Tree Spring.)

The public will be able to access the Lake Fulmor Day-Use Area as well as Hall Decker Rd.

From 8 a.m., to 5 p.m., on both Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12, Caltrans will doing work on slopes along Hwy. 243. Caltrans said motorists “should anticipate lengthy delays on these days as Caltrans crews will be removing rock and debris from the slopes in these areas.”

Work along Hwy. 74 continues and its reopening is still several weeks in the future, Caltrans noted.
