Deputies found two hikers who called for help in the San Jacinto Mountains near Idyllwild, the sheriff's department said Sunday.
The hikers phoned sheriff's dispatch at 8:16 p.m. Saturday to say they were lost and needed assistance, according to the sheriff's report.
The sheriff's rescue unit began the search in the area of Angels Fright Trail near Humber Park. They found the hikers at 11:35 p.m. and escorted them to safety, the report said.
There were no injuries reported, and the names of the hikers were not released.
