Zeus

Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” ARF cats discussed how adoption makes sense.

Zeus: Hey Bear, did you hear that the ARF House is now closed except for those humans who make appointments?

Bear: Closed? Why? What’s wrong?

Zeus: It’s closed because of the COVID pandemic. The ARF humans just want to be certain they are all safe.

Whiskers: What about people who find a dog or want to adopt one? Or maybe adopt one of us cats?

Zeus: Don’t worry! All of those things will still happen. It’s just that the ARF House will be closed to casual traffic. But anyone who wants to see one of us still may, but with an appointment.

Whiskers: And what if someone finds a loose dog?

Pepper: I’m guessing that they should call ARF right away. ARF will still help.

Sadie: That’s right, Pepper. All of the same services will be available. A phone call is all it takes.

Pepper: What about Sadie’s Clinic or the nail trim clinic?

Zeus: Those will still be happening with the safety measures in place.

Pepper: Whew! That’s good news. I guess people just need to make their appointments as they always have.

Sadie: When are the clinics?

Bear: The big sign outside says the next nail trim clinic is on July 28 and the next Sadie’s Clinic is on Aug. 5.

Heavenly Whiskers: Zeus, you mentioned there are safety measures at the clinics. What does that mean?

Zeus: It means that when a human and their pet arrive at ARF, they will check in with the friendly volunteer who will let them know when it is time for the pet to go into the clinic. The pet will be taken in at the front door by another volunteer and the human will then go to the back door to pay and be reunited.

Bear: Voila!

Be sure to keep up with the animal antics of “Days of Our Nine Lives” each week. Please stop in to say hello to the entire adoptable cast at the ARF House, 26890 Highway 243 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sundays, or by appointment Monday-Friday by calling 951-659-1122.
