Rosemary

Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” the ARF cats shared their most endearing traits.
Fern: What is it with dogs and kittens?
Stevie: Uh, they are both homeless?
Fern: Ha ha. That’s true, but what I mean is I’m trying to figure out why they are adopted so quickly.
Rosemary: Now Fern, many of our adult cats have been adopted, too.
Pepper: But not as quickly as dogs and kittens.
Stevie: Case in point: We have no kittens and no dogs.
Pepper: Easy come, easy go.
Fern: I thought I’d heard the ARF people talking about some new dogs.
Pepper: Well, it seems some dogs will be with ARF soon, but ARF is waiting a bit to share the news.
Rosemary: Why’s that?
Pepper: The dogs must see the veterinarian first, to receive a clean bill of health.
Whiskers: And just as it is with us, they will be adopted with all necessary vaccinations, tests, a microchip and will be spayed or neutered.
Fern: The adoption fees are very reasonable, especially considering the fee includes everything needed.
Pepper: So, when a human adopts a loving four-legged from ARF, he or she is ready to go!
Stevie: For at least a year, if not longer.
Whiskers: During the absence of kittens and dogs, hopefully humans will turn their focus to us.
Fern: Right! Any human coming to the ARF House will see just how lovely we are.
Pepper: They can read lots about us, but meeting in person is an entirely different thing.
Fern: Being the office cat, I will woo anyone who comes to visit. Afterall, I get first shot!
Be sure to keep up with the animal antics of “Days of our Nine Lives” each week. And please stop in to say hello to the entire adoptable cast at the ARF House, 26890 Highway 243. ARF is open Saturdays 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and during the week by appointment. Please call 951-659-1122.
