Paula Rosanne Rumler, 60, born in Minneapolis Minn. on Dec. 6, 1950, passed away peacefully with her husband at her side on May 14, 2011.

Paula moved to Idyllwild, Calif., from San Francisco in August of 1973 with her son, Freddie. She enjoyed children, music, gardening, sewing and crafts. She worked as a waitress and cook for many years at Jan’s Red Kettle and other restaurants in Idyllwild. Her favorite job, by far, was when she coordinated the activities and events at the former Idyllwild/Pine Cove Community Center located at the current site of the Mountain Resource Center on Franklin Drive.

She was known by many for her clever sayings that were sure to bring a smile to your face. She will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Nelson, of Chesapeake, Va.; brother Richard Nelson of Midlothian, Va.; sisters Marilynn Finn of Sacramento, Calif., Roberta Old of Chicago, Ill., and Sharon Russell of Allardt, Tenn.; husband of 25 years, Don Rumler; sons Freddie Espinoza and Paul Hamilton of Idyllwild; stepsons Shane and Cameron Rumler of Idyllwild; grandchildren Freddie Espinoza Jr. of Hemet, Calif.; Kyra and Cody Espinoza of Idyllwild.

A “Celebration of Life” is planned for Saturday, June 4, 2011, from noon to 2 p.m., at Village Center Drive near Strawberry Creek Bridge in Idyllwild.
