On Monday night, Oct. 10, local Tracy Philippi stopped a burglary in progress on Scenic Drive in Idyllwild. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as Mathew James Subish, 38, of Idyllwild. Subish is charged with felony burglary, purchase or receipt of a stolen vehicle (one of the vehicles allegedly used by Subish at the site of the burglary), and prior prison within the last five years.
He is currently incarcerated at Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta and scheduled for a felony settlement conference on Thursday, Oct. 20. Bail is set at $25,000. At the time of arrest, Subish provided a false ID to arresting officers and at his arraignment did not declare his true name. Subish pleaded not guilty to all charges.
