UPDATE 4:45 p.m.: The snow is definitely sticking in Idyllwild now. There is about a quarter- to a half-inch on the ground in town.

Large snowflakes descended on the Hill today, starting around noon in Pine Cove and Fern Valley and 2:15 p.m. in Idyllwild. The snow in town is still soggy with rain and is not yet sticking to the ground.

This Afternoon: Rain showers. Some thunder is also possible. High near 52. West wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Tonight: Snow showers likely before 11pm. Some thunder is also possible. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 30. West wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 50. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west.

Sunday: Rain likely, mainly after 11am. Snow level 5700 feet. Cloudy, with a high near 50. West wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Sunday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers, mainly before 11pm. Snow level 5700 feet. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 55.
