Pine Cove Water District (PCWD) General Manager Jerry Holldber often compliments his crew on its ability to complete most of the necessary district building and maintenance projects without needing to resort to an outside contractor. Holldber, who was approached by a vendor when inquiring about exterior paint coating prices for several of PCWD’s tanks, asked the vendor to present a bid to his board including painting and providing ongoing maintenance for the tanks. Holldber wants to have his board compare costs of in-house maintenance and outside contractor prices.
In other business, Holldber noted that October 2011 production (2,841,710 gallons) is on par with October 2009 and slightly ahead of October 2010 levels. Static measuring well number 10 is only down one foot from last month. “It has really held up well,” said Holldber.
The next PCWD board meeting is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the district meeting room.
