Pearl, a black Labrador, was surrendered to the Humane Society by her owners because she just couldn’t stay put. Fortunately for Pearl, the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation discovered her. Since then, Pearl has shown her appreciation by saving lives all over the world.

Captain Ron Horetski of the Los Angeles County Fire Department is Pearl’s handler. Together they have traveled the world, including to Haiti and Japan, to save lives in the midst of natural disasters. Their next stop will be right here in Idyllwild, to share their story with the Hill community.

Please join ARF, Pearl, and Captain Horetski, at 10 a.m,Saturday, Jan. 14. They will both be at the Nature Center. You will have an opportunity to meet Pearl and hear her story and the stories of their adventures saving lives.

The presentation is free and open to all. Bring your camera and your tissues. This is one event you won’t want to miss! If you have questions, call ARF at (951) 659-1122.
