Idyllwild Arts now streams concerts and events on a website www.ustream.tv/channel/idyllwild-arts-live. A calendar of events that will be streamed through the end of the academic year, is also available at www.idyllwildarts.org/calendar-q10523-c10048-Live_Performances.aspx.

Darren Schilling, Idyllwild Arts marketing director, said the project was launched in October with donor funding to show off-Hill audiences the vibrancy of artistic life at the academy. “We’re on a mountain,” Schilling said. “We want to show what we can do here.”

Currently available are recent faculty recitals and the February academy orchestra concert. The academy will also stream lectures and talks, such as the Friday, Feb. 10 presentation by alumnus, print and graphic artist Shepard Fairey, creator of the 2008 Obama “Hope” poster.
